Silke Katharina

Silke is a survivor of sexual abuse, therapist and social activist. She has founded the activism project SURVIVORS TOGETHER to spark a movement of survivors of childhood sexual abuse to speak for themselves, challenge stereotypes and stigmatisation and to educate the public. The group runs a monthly Open Forum for survivors at the Canvas Cafe in East London and is currently working on research-based information packages for education and healthcare professionals.

Silke aims to bring together the knowledge and expertise from within the survivors’ community, personal experience, scientific study and professional work to improve the perception and treatment of survivors in society.

She will be speaking on the ‘What do we tell the kids about sexual abuse panel?’ on Saturday 1st of August.
