Marcus Ryder is the Head of Current Affairs BBC Scotland. He executive produces all of the television current affairs output produced by Scotland Current Affairs for BBC Scotland and BBC Network. He has commissioned and executive produced several current affairs programmes on sexual assault including a programme on teenage rape, the time bar in Scotland on sexual assault cases (meaning some cases couldn’t be prosecuted) and an award-winning film on child sex abuse in the Catholic church in Scotland.
Marcus will be chairing the How can we improve media coverage of sexual assault and abuse? panel on Friday night, 31st July at 6pm, alongside The Telegraph’s Radhika Saghani and Dr Nina Burrowes.
